Why Is My AC Running But Not Cooling Properly?

Your AC can run but not cool due to low airflow, dirty filters, blocked vents, or a tripped breaker. Other causes include low refrigerant or leaks, a dirty condenser coil, thermostat problems, bad capacitors/contactors, or failing fan/compressor components. Incorrect installation can also reduce cooling. Refrigerant work requires certified handling. We offer same-day AC inspections.

Quick checks:

  • Replace or clean the air filter.
  • Open all supply/return vents and remove obstructions.
  • Verify thermostat is on Cool and check the breaker/fuse.
